linux日志服务器遇到的问题

系统是RedHat As4
首先修改了/etc/sysconfig/syslog文件

# Options to syslogd
# -m 0 disables 'MARK' messages.
# -r enables logging from remote machines
# -x disables DNS lookups on messages recieved with -r
# See syslogd( for more details
SYSLOGD_OPTIONS="-r -m 0"
# Options to klogd
# -2 prints all kernel oops messages twice; once for klogd to decode, and
#    once for processing with 'ksymoops'
# -x disables all klogd processing of oops messages entirely
# See klogd( for more details
KLOGD_OPTIONS="-x"

然后在/etc/syslog.conf文件中增加了一句：
local5.*                     /home/log/2950.log

并在/home/log/下touch了一个2950.log文件。

2950交换机也做了如下配置：

logging 192.168.1.1  
logging on  
logging cns-events errors
logging trap 6  
logging facility local5


最后
#service syslog restart

请问，我的2950.log文件为什么总是空的？（在交换机上做了N多操作，包括shutdown端口，可最后也没能在linux上看到日志）

在默认路径下是可行的，（/var/log/）
从启syslog 以后能自动生成2950.log
为啥换了路径以后就不行了呢（apache也存在相同的问题）？
RedHat As3就不存在这样的情况

有人知道吗？

可能是因为SELinux，你看看/var/log/messages
