E17 themes:
The theme format is not final yet, so themes will become outdated fairly quickly if they aren't properly maintained. This depends on how fast things are moving in CVS. Sometimes this can mean that your theme has to be updated every two weeks, sometimes it might mean two months. We cannot predict this as E17 is a moving target. All outdated content will be removed from the site. Once the author makes a new submission, ie, updates the theme to work correctly with the current theme format, we will host it again. What this means in practise is that we only keep themes that are more or less fully working with the current E17 development version from CVS. Needless to say, all the people involved in creating the theme will be correctly credited on Get-E.org - we are simply a portal, the Get-E.org staff will not take over or edit your content that has been accepted, without your permission. If your theme is outdated or we find unresolved licence or crediting issues, we will delete it from the site until you submit us a fixed version. Here are our general requirements for theme submissions:
* The theme should, if possible, be completely original artwork created by you. Ports of other window manager's themes are in general not accepted, unless it's exceptionally well done.
* You need to be very careful when it comes to licence and credits related issues. Everything included in the theme needs to be credited. Note that this also includes fonts and EDC code. For example, some licences are incompatible - you may not mix GPL and Creative Commons/BSD content for example, as GPL would "infect" the rest of the theme as well, which would be a licence violation.
* If you are using artwork that isn't created by you, the artwork either needs to be under a licence that allows you to use it freely or you need written permission from the artist that you may use it. I both cases, the artist of course still needs to be properly credited of his/her work. You also need to make sure you aren't using any content that has a licence that would "infect" other content within the same package. For example, if you are using a GPL'd font it is impossible to have anything in the theme that isn't also GPL'd, as the licence infects the entire theme. This is why in general the GPL is not very common for graphics. For example, various iconsets have moved to LGPL instead.
* Your theme needs to highlight the strenghs of E17. The theming engine in Enlightenment DR 17 is probably the most advanced one out there, and your theme needs to take advantage of this and in a way, be good "PR-material" for E17. What this means is that you should use real transparency, various animations and custom effects, but this all depends on the theme in question.
* Your theme's images need to to be in PNG format.
* If possible, everything that works in the current default theme template needs to work in your theme as well. Exceptions to this can be made though, for example having a custom mouse pointer is not necessary, neither is something rejected because a single feature is missing that works in the default theme.Your theme has to have custom (as in different than the default theme) graphics for:
* Window Borders
* Main Menu
* Focus Effects
* Ibar Module
* Pager Module
* Clock Module
* Start Module
* Battery Module
* Cpufreq Module
* Temperature Module
* Ibox Module
* Gadget Manager (including edit mode)
* Window Status Menu
* Alt-Tab Menu
* Dialogs (the theme about dialog should contain relevant licence information)
Exceptions to this can be made though, depending in the situation.
* The prefered communication method is IRC - our channel is #Get-E on irc.freenode.net. You can also contact us via mail, but we would prefer if you used IRC actively so we can easily get in touch with you.
这个授权要求简直是严格的没话说,难怪发布的themes那么少…… |
