Hi there,

I am using redhat 9 + samba 3.0.0.2 to setup a PDC server.

I have built a domain, and windows 9x/2000 can logon to the samba domain, but the windows xp professioal occur a problem when I try to logon to the same domain.

I got a problem when I try to add a windows xp professional box to a samba3 linux PDC. would like your kindly advice.

The problem is very simple, that is, I can add the XP computer to the samba Domain successfully, and I can logon to the damain when I restart the XP computer, but after I logon, I find I could not shutdown the Xp computer or log off from the computer.

What could I do?

xp 登陆到samba域上后就不能自动关机，以及logoff了。
2000/9x都没有问题。

经过自己的艰苦努力，终于解决了winxp登陆samba2的问题。

我的理解， 基本上winxp和samba之间工作的不好。问题多多。

不如win9x/2000加入samba域来的容易。

推荐不要这样工作。

有兴趣的人可以找我要smb.conf文件。

我用中文给你列一下( win home edition 不能加到windows和samba的域 )

1. 修改注册表.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Parameters]
"requiresignorseal"=dword:00000000
"signsecurechannel"=dword:00000000  (这一个很多时候都不用加)

2. windows 机器加入 linux password 文件里(使用 vipw )。如:
myworkstation$:1200:300:Workstation:/dev/null:/bin/false
myworkstation 是windows 机器名，注意 $ 标记
Workstation 是 组名。

3. vigr 把 Workstation 加到 /etc/group 里，如:
workstation::300:

4. vipw -s 把 workstation 加到 /etc/shadow 里。 如:
myworkstation$:*:9797:0:::::
(这一步我好像没有做，也可以把 win xp 加到域里, 你可以自己试一试)

5. 最后把 myworkstation 加到 samba password 里。
smbpasswd -m -a myworkstation

要想让每个用户都可以加入域，还必须用 smbpasswd 建一个 root 用户。然后在 win xp 里用 administator 登陆，加入 samba 域时 ,用户名和密码会被要求输入。这时一定要使用刚创建好的 root 用户和密码登陆。

注意如果你有登陆网路目录，你可能需要在 DOS 里运行 Net USE * /DELETE /YES 把存在的 NetBios 连接关掉。如果还不行就重新开机。
